Call Center Rep

Job Description
  • Your primary focus will be on the acquisition of new VIP Rewards memberships and secondarily the preservation of existing VIP Rewards members. You are responsible to support other areas of the Contact Center by answering Customer Service related calls & emails with satisfactory performance in meeting VIP retention metrics (saves).
  • You are responsible to meet or exceed expectations for your individual performance based on key performance metrics and goals from your leadership team.
  • You give every Customer 100% of your attention and care every time they call us to ensure they shop again and tell their family and friends to shop with us.
  • You integrate the words and phrases required by Road Runner Sports and follow scripting and guidelines set forth by your leadership team in order to ensure a WOW experience for your Customer.
  • You actively listen to your Customer in order to identify their needs and to offer them products based on features and benefits.
  • You effectively utilize the Wow with Heart call flow to up-serve, cross-serve and add-serve using features and benefits in order to maximize sales performance.
  • You sell within the guidelines of promotions and campaigns while managing an acceptable return rate.
  • You apply technical information regarding footwear, apparel, nutrition and accessories. You demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and apply new knowledge.
  • You demonstrate ability to operate effectively both individually as well as on a team.
  • You are open and accepting of coaching, including role play and demonstration. You are responsive when solicited for your observations and share customer comments, as needed.
  • You share feedback from Customers directly with your leadership team, including possible solutions, in order to improve the Customer experience.
  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to your team and your Customers by adhering to your schedule, your attendance guidelines and quality monitoring when taking phone calls.
Attendance Requirements

The below requirements apply at all times unless alternate arrangements have been made and approved by a Supervisor:

You will follow attendance policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Additional hours may be assigned as needed and schedules may be modified to meet the needs of our Customers.

You meet ever changing departmental requirements by being flexible, cooperative, and professional. You understand, support and contribute to team goals, and utilize team resources.


Education and Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus two years sales or customer service experience. Call center experience a plus.

Computer/Phone Skills:

Ability to meet expectations when using the companies order entry systems as well as phone systems. Ability to navigate the Internet.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to Customers over the telephone; articulate and be professional at all times.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense. Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to problem solve issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Qualifications:

Must be able to foster and maintain an atmosphere of open and positive communication and work effectively with all levels of employees, and be open to ongoing and daily communications with other departments.
