Job Description

Following is the position details:Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility for Extension)Job Title: Technical WriterLocation: Remote or Baltimore, MD
Works as Technical Writer on problems of moderate scope where the analysis of technical data requires a review of a variety of factors using Root Cause Analysis. The development of the solution requires a multi-disciplinary approach and knowledge of basic product data writing principles, -theories and -concepts. Formulates the solution for (technical) partial problems by combining previous experiences based upon technical analysis and product data writing (feasibility) studies. May lead small projects, managing a small number of people. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience in technical writing.Experience: 3-5 years professional experience. Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent unless otherwise specified. Gather and research information for use in technical documentation. Assist in layout work. Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions.Current Responsibilities• Develop and maintain service and user documentation in support of project deliverables for Radiology Solutions (currently I manage ~100 documents in ENG and various languages which has expanded to include service, user, release notes, FAST Sheets, and any other internal or customer-facing documents the business requires/needs )• Develop and maintain internal writing documentation to support new writers, existing writers, and the Knowledge Management Team.• Work with subject matter experts to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication• Research and create technical information into manuals or documents for end users.• Capture processes as they are outlined or demonstrated• Organizing materials and complete writing assignment according to set company documentation and quality standards defining order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology• Create, review and edit material following simplified technical English (STE) and Philips Healthcare Style Guidelines.• Multitask across several projects as necessary• Make updates to existing documents per markups, or draft new procedures, documents, and manuals• Evaluate system requirements and provide evidence of their fulfillment• Participate in peer review of documentation• Perform the processes on the equipment to determine the best way to perform a repair, adjustment, or usability.• Comply with internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements• Organize, edit, and maintain technical records of updates, and revisions and files• Manage a meeting of a multi-disciplinary team of people to work towards a release of a manual• Track the status of each document through to release and manage the release process of all user/service documentation in cPLM Windchill• Communicate status and issues to management appropriately• Coordinate translation/localization activities for required markets including initiating the PO process, making changes to English version, generating XML files to send to the translation company, managing translated XML files, coordinating the in-country review process, and releasing the completed documents in the CMS.• Serve as the Publication Manager for SPARSH, DoseWise, and PARAM projects within Windchill (build publications, serves as approver/reviewer of all new content/structures and Change Notices from other writers, grammatically and structurally edits technical content in PDF output)Thanks and Regards,
