Azure Cloud Engineer


Title: Azure Cloud Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 3 months/ W2



Required Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field
  • 7 - 8 years of experience supporting Cloud infrastructure
  • Experience automating and orchestrating workloads across multiple public cloud providers.
  • Architect and Develop full stack solutions, from whiteboard to green SLA s.
  • Work directly with customers to define



Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a dedicated technical resource for clients leveraging AWS/Azure infrastructure coupled with Client support services.
  • Build and maintain the client relationship from a technical perspective,
  • Integrate with and understand the client s business and goals, and provide solutions using available AWS/Azure products and services.
  • Design and implement solutions, and assist in their ongoing maintenance and support.
  • Serve as an escalation point for assistance with and management of critical incidents.
  • Provide Architecture diagrams of existing infrastructure
  • Present recommendations around Security, Availability, and Performance
  • Provide performance/cost analysis, and implement cost saving recommendations by terminating idle or unused resources, right-sizing resources, updating previous generation resources, etc.
  • Participate in Customer Change Advisory Boards and Stand-Ups
  • Communicate with client daily via phone, email, and ticketing system.



What does a typical work day look like? (How much time will be spent in meetings? Etc.)

  • This can change day-to-day and is customer dependent, but there will likely be a mix of internal and client meetings, project management and associated project work, and problem solving for needs/issues ranging from common to critical.

How does this project impact the business?

  • We have a contractual obligation to provide a Lead Cloud Engineer to the associated clients, so there is a monetary impact to both providing and not providing this resource. We have ~95K in revenue tied to accounts that currently need an LCE aligned.



How does your team impact the business?

  • Fulfills a contractual obligation to provide Lead Cloud Engineer services to clients that purchase the Complex Cloud Operations service block.



What does the team environment look like?

  • Currently a mix of Engineers and Architects that are working to support ?10 clients and ~330K MRR. Most of these folks are in the San Antonio office, which provides a great environment for collaborating with the other LCE/LCAs as well as the TAM and Sales team that supports these clients.



What is the interaction level this resource will have with the team? The manager?

  • Depending on whether they are in the office or remote this will differ, but there are certainly means in place to communicate (chat, video conference, etc.), and everyone on the team is willing to help and provide guidance for one another. There are weekly team meetings to provide the latest updates on our business, as well as regular 1:1s with the manager.
