Technical Writer

Job Responsibilities:

· Edit and publish knowledgebase articles submitted by SMEs. This process includes determining skill levels of intended audiences and match the level of detail required in the articles.

· Develop new knowledgebase articles as required. This process includes determining skill levels of intended audiences and match the level of detail required in the articles.

· Revise existing or develop new policy and procedure documentation for IT Systems and applications. Work with various levels of expertise and management following a documented review and publishing process.

· Produce video demonstrations, tutorials and system walk-throughs for internal audiences.

· Monitor documentation age and work with stakeholders to update or retire outdated documentation. Manage and assign new document numbers and ensure both sources files and final documents are stored and published according to guidelines.

· Attend several monthly meetings and prepare detailed meeting minutes for distribution.

· Other duties as assigned.



· 5+ years’ experience

· Degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Journalism or related discipline

· Proficient with Office 365 products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, MS SharePoint Online, Foxit PhantomPDF and Adobe Acrobat Pro.

· Proficient in TechSmith Camtasia, Adobe Captivate or similar software.

· Proficient with IT Knowledgebase applications such as ServiceNow, Remedy, ZenDesk or Jira ServiceDesk.

· Demonstrated technical writing experience in support of IT projects.

· Ability to work independently to collect information from various sources and then develop and present the information in a complete and clear manner.

· Demonstrated experience applying industry publishing practices and standards including style, layout and design.

· Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style and Microsoft Manual of Style for Technical Publications.

· Exceptional communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to communication with all levels of expertise and management.

· Strong organizational skills

· Ability to work independently and multi-task.
