Sr. Technical Writer


IT Services is seeking a curious, self-motivated, and high quality Sr. Technical Writer who is looking to apply their skills and experience in innovative ways. You must be a strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and coordinate work across teams.

The Sr. Technical Writer role requires a collaborative team member who can effectively work across all levels of internal IT support organization, gather information and produce critical content for technical audience under tight deadlines. The candidate must be able to proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure that all written content is appropriate and up to the highest quality standards, while maintaining complete fidelity to accuracy and proper handling of sensitive data. The Technical Writer must be an outstanding writer with the ability to clearly convey technical solution in a highly readable, customer-focused format.

The ideal candidate possesses demonstrated technical writing experience and the process development and leadership necessary to effectively support a fast growing business. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about the mission, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions in a written context.

Roles and Responsibilities:
· Analyze customer needs (through shadowing, interviews, forums, support contacts etc.) and translate them to continent improvements.
· Develop, execute, and iterate on content strategy and drive adoption and improvements.
· Write business strategy documents to communicate content plans and business updates to senior leadership.
· Effectively utilize existing documentation to address recurring content inquiries and develop scalable, global solutions.
· Organize material and completes all writing assignments in a timely manner with quality and adherence to IT Services standards.
· Document and build a library of approved content for quick-turnaround opportunities.
· Review final documents for editing and content review.
· Handle simple to complex escalations.

Basic Qualifications

· 6+ years as a technical writer, editor, or content strategist.
· 6+ years of experience with business or professional writing, including analysis/report or proposal writing.
· 6+ years of experience working in a Content Management System (CMS).
· Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing, or related field, or comparable job experience.
· Experience managing content projects, including coordinating with other teams and stakeholders.
· Experience with a markup language such as HTML and XML.
· Experience launching a CMS platform and migrating content between CSM platforms.
· Experience managing content for translation and localization.
· Strong bias for action and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

· 6+ years of experience communicating and collaborating with diverse audience in engineering, production, and management; ability to adapt to the changing needs of customers and stakeholders.
· Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Java, Ruby, or C#.
· Knowledge of CSS, and static site generators.
· Strong analytical, project management, communication, and writing skills.
· Ability to work under deadlines and to deliver in the midst of changes in project direction.
· Experience working as part of a global team with remote colleagues.
· Experience working in an agile content development environment.
