Job Description:

Healthcare organization seeks Software Developer to provide advanced level programming support, data analysis, system design, and new application development for all web applications. The Software Develoepr will mentor other developers and oversee their design and development work. This role is 6 months in duration, and would be remote at the onset; however, onsite work would be required in the foreseeable future in San Diego.

The Software Developer will function as technical lead for medium to large projects, while ensuring technical solutions are aligned with business strategy and are consistent with team’s technical direction. The Software Developer will also design and perform comprehensive analysis, programming design and development activities associated with web application development.

Other duties include:

- Interprets and translates functional specifications into appropriate technical specifications and database design documents using department standards.

- Utilizes sound knowledge of IS strategies and development tools to develop system solutions that meet business requirements.

- Demonstrates forward thinking by conducting thorough analysis of data requests and changes to implement proposed solutions.

- Creates technical documents using UML diagraming techniques, including Sequence Diagram, Activity Diagram, Class Diagram, etc.

- Designs sound database structures by using Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD).

- Enforce standards and best practices regarding code review, secure programming, and performance testing.

- Demonstrates knowledge of software development methodologies (i.e. Waterfall, Agile, etc.).

- Develops templates and training documents for department to assist in understanding of data base design and data relationships.

- Collaborates with analysts, developers and data base administrators to resolve data issues and plan for implementation of new data feeds.

- Plans and develops implementation strategies associated with application implementation or upgrades.

- Seeks out required data and resources for problem analysis and resolution.

Required Skills:

- Seven years of experience developing applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ColdFusion, others.

- Three years of experience designing technical solutions leveraging best practices as well as accepted patterns and principles.

- Experience with and knowledge of software development methodologies, processes, tools, and interfacing with both internal and third party APIs are required.

- Familiarity with the concepts of secure programming and strategies for preventing common security vulnerabilities such as injection attacks and request forgeries is preferred.

- Experience in SQL as well as database design and development preferred.


- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Health Care Administration preferred.

- Relevant experience in excess of seven years or appropriate certifications may be substituted.
