Position overview:
We are seeking a nutrition writer to support the marketing writing team. The Marketing Copywriter works on a wide range of health marketing and communications initiatives. This position contributes to the growth of the brand by helping to develop compelling marketing ideas, creative concepts, and nutrition-focused communications.

What you'll do:
First and foremost, this position requires the ability to write attention-grabbing nutrition marketing copy in a regulatory- and R&D-driven environment
Work with category managers and executives in the development of Metagenics and Bariatric Advantage marketing concepts and nutrition commuincation for healthcare professional and consumer audiences, across traditional and interactive media, including: marketing collateral, print advertising, promotions, direct mail, direct response radio, product catalogs, video, websites and landing pages, social media, newsletters, and email marketing campaigns
Understand target audiences and motivators to create the appropriate style, tone, and voice; ensure all communications are on brand and on strategy; and support key transactional goals
Translate scientific concepts and technical information into practical marketing language for the appropriate target audiences
Participate in brainstorming sessions that produce fresh and unexpected ideas; contribute to creative briefs, campaign development, and creative execution
Copywrite, edit, and proof projects based on assignments
Apply brand and style guidelines to various digital, print, and communication pieces
Assist with other ad hoc projects as assigned

What you'll need:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Health Journalism, Nutritional Science, or Integrative Healthcare
At least 3-5 years of medical nutriton or health writing experience with an emphasis in composing scientific materials; knowledge of AMA writing guidelines a plus
Experience in the nutrition or pharmaceuticals industry, a science background, understanding of regulatory issues surrounding copywriting for nutritional products
Experience in translating technical or scholarly information into accessible and persuasive language
Adobe Creative Suite and Agency experience is a plus


Experience with branding, creative concept development, and marketing copywriting across traditional and interactive media
Classical marketing principles, theory, and practice


Creative briefs: development, interpretation, execution
Excellent conceptual and storytelling skills
Strong verbal, written communication, and marketing copywriting skills
Ability to understand and translate complex concepts and technical information into practical marketing language
Comfortable presenting in front of small audiences and working with various editors and cross-functional teams
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage shifting priorities
A passion for great creative

Physical requirements/working conditions:
Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments
