Marketing Analyst


Our rapidly scaling medical education technology company is seeking a Marketing Analyst to join our newly formed Performance Marketing & Analytics team. In this role, you will identify and gather relevant data to enable analysis, creatively provide insights from results and communicate recommendations to various audiences (marketers to executive leadership) to support decision making. This position is ideal for a self-motivated and data-informed person who can work autonomously and has a willingness to learn, enjoys problem solving and wants to build a career at an early stage, high growth start-up.

This is a hands-on position in a unique, distributed start-up environment, so we are looking for a candidate who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and to work with team members across the organization.

About the Role

As a Marketing Analyst, you will provide actionable insights and support that the marketing team can use to inform and optimize strategy across paid digital, brand, and email and mobile marketing channels. Your primary responsibilities will include building a suite of analytics for providing data-informed insights that guide execution, optimization, testing, and media and resource investment decisions. This role uses data to measure channel performance and inform decision making, understands multi-touch attribution models, and advises how best to allocate marketing investment across competing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop comprehensive analysis for major projects on marketing performance to drive decision making, optimization, reporting and analysis
  • Serve as the digital analytics subject matter expert focusing on channel performance analytics, marketing optimization, customer segmentation, attribution modeling and ROI, and brand measurement
  • Own and maintain dashboards & visualizations to help marketing team make critical decisions and understand the overall health of our digital media and offline programs
  • Drive solutions to improve data quality issues and design data architecture by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Oversee and drive tagging processes and data governance to improve data collection and optimization
  • Support the development of consistent 'test and learn' approach across digital programs and drive best practices to enable insights generation
  • Translate business requirements from the digital marketing team into analytical specifications and collaborate with data scientists to build advanced models
  • Proactively identify new data sets to incorporate into media and web analytics platforms for deeper optimization opportunities
This position is full time and remote.

  • 3+ years of experience in a marketing analytics role, including experience with AdsWords and/or Facebook Business Manager.
  • Extensive experience with SQL, Google Analytics, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and handle details accurately and in a timely manner; able to prioritize time effectively and manage competing projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with analytical and non-analytical team members and stakeholders.

Preferred attributes
  • Knowledge of SaaS or subscriber-based platforms
  • Experience supporting the development and refinement of KPIs and metrics
  • Experience in education, health care, or related fields
