User Research Project Lead
ESTIMATED HOURS PER WEEK: 30-40
JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position (estimated 6 week project with additional opportunities)
LOCATION: Remote (Must have at least 4 hours overlap with PST timezone)
HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $65 - $90 USD / HR
- Previous experience leading successful user research projects
- Know-how to creatively source interviewees matching specific criteria (Facebook? Mass emails?)
- You utilize design thinking and are user-centric in your field (You
may have a background in UX Design, Product Management or Product

ABOUT OUR CLIENT
You will be working with the innovation labs team within an established enterprise. This department was built to rethink how a 150-year-old company will evolve in response to the changing landscape.
Through their lab, they've leveraged innovation methodologies like Design Thinking, Journey Mapping, Sprint, and Agile to support their enterprise partners to innovate on products and services. Their projects are foundational for many of the transformations our client is undertaking today.
They are looking for a User Research to assist with a user research project.
ABOUT THE PROJECT:
The Customer Experience team is looking to conduct Consumer Research to gain insights for rethinking an existing product. There will be a qualitative survey, 20 interviews, with 5 participants in each of 4 pre-identified segments. The same participant base will participate in two sets of interviews, spaced out over a couple of weeks.
This project has three phases:
Phase 1 | Recruit participants through a variety of methods (paid Facebook advertisements, LinkedIn, etc) and screen to ensure qualifications to join the study.
Phase 2 | Conduct 2x 20 qualitative interviews. You will need to save, organized, and distribute these interviews to the team.
Phase 3 | Create a report synthesizing findings. Identify themes, insights, and opportunity areas.
- Experience sourcing interview candidates within hyper-specifc criteria
- Experience leading a large scale user research effort, both in the planning and execution
- High level of empathy, excellent people skills, and top-notch communication
