Social Media Manager


Position Description:



Note: We are open to fully remote candidates



The Social Media Manager is an appointed administrator for Aspen University and United States University’s social media communities (i.e. Facebook Page) and a key member of the marketing team.



The Social Media Manager is responsible for growing and maintaining our brand’s online community, and developing & implementing a coherent and effective social strategy aligned with marketing goals. Strategic by nature, this digital-savvy colleague will foster active and engaged communities from a place of authority, expertise, and empathy. 



Day-to-day he/she will manage a social media content calendar, create reports, monitor online conversations, and participate in those conversations to build brand visibility and thought leadership.



Essential Functions:



  • Comment and conversation moderation 
  • Social media calendar management
  • Social media campaign ideation and execution
  • Post to all social media channels
  • Community outreach (targeting Facebook groups, forums, etc. for sharing content)
  • Influencer outreach/management 
  • Moderate active Facebook groups 
  • Oversee customer service provided via social
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in voice and cultivating an engaged social media community
  • Report on the process of applying various social media tactics using a variety of digital analytics and media tracking tools
  • Managing/collaborate on user generated content initiatives and contests
  • Generate and launch image and video-based social content

 

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Social media managing and measurement tools, such as Hootsuite & Sprout
  • Social listening tools, such as Falcon & BuzzSumo 
  • Deep platform and product knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, and others
  • Presentation skills and an ability to articulate complex strategy 
  • Basic proficiency in Photoshop & InDesign
  • Working knowledge of design and photography best practices
  • Video experience a plus
  • 1-3 years experience managing social media platforms for brands
  • Experience in the healthcare industry or higher education a plus



Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
