Goals for this Role

  • Maintaining a clear system that supports families in forming their learning pods.
  • Compiling resources that can provide support for families and teachers managing in-home and virtual instruction.
  • Exemplary customer service — each platform user feels appreciated and that their interaction with Selected added value to their day.
  • Identify inefficiencies and build/refine systems that enhance both the customer experience and our efficiency in delivering best-in-class support.
  • Aid the leadership team in spotting trends that can lead to scaling our support and increasing equity and access for all families.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operational support of Selected for Families.

    • 30 minute intake calls discussing the families needs and desires in an in-home teacher.
    • Returning customer voicemail calls.
  • Supporting families with candidate searches (using the platform to coach parents on the most effective use).
  • Directing follow-up correspondence to the most appropriate team member(s).
  • Tracking trends in support needs from families to ensure the Selected for Families team is quickly able to design and implement resources.
  • Helping to create resources that will help families succeed in their in-home setting.

Key Characteristics and Working Relationships

This role will work under the supervision of our Talent and Community Support Manager, but will also be expected to work under their own initiative. There is a need for excellent communication and the continued maintenance of relationships with all staff and stakeholders.

Successful candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, quickly evolving start-up environment. Being comfortable with ambiguity is a must, as is drive, initiative, and an ability to manage up.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (gmail, google docs, google sheets, etc.) and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Availability is flexible. We are in need of support during normal business hours as well as evenings and weekends.

Role Preferences

  • 1+ years of customer support experience
  • Teaching experience
