Customer Service Representative/Student Advisor


This position is remote and open to candidates in the Tri-State Area

CompareTopSchools.com, a leading higher education portal, is seeking individuals interested in working 20-35 hours a week as a customer support agent/student advisor. This member of the CompareTopSchools team must be articulate, professional and most of all helpful when speaking with prospective students, discussing their career goals and suggesting colleges and universities that best fit their needs. Our call center is open Monday thru Friday from 9am to 9pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from potential students by placing outbound quality assurance calls


  • Verify and/or correct the contact information of these potential students


  • Inform potential students of matching academic programs and schools in our network


  • Make recommendations and answer any questions regarding schools and academic programs in a professional manner


  • Periodically enter clear and precise notes using our customer relationship management (CRM) software


Requirements

  • Available to work 20-35 hours a week


  • Intermediate computer skills with an ability to be trained on our customer relationship management (CRM) software


  • Excellent verbal communication skills with an understanding of proper phone etiquette


  • A fondness for talking on the phone and providing academic guidance


  • A history of being punctual, responsible and reliable


  • Motivated, detail-oriented and enthusiastic about his/her work


  • Previous experience working in customer service or a call center environment a plus but not required


Compensation: $13 - $16/hr
