Director of Marketing (paid media)

Libertas Institute is seeking an experienced marketer with a solid foundation in direct response paid media to help increase the reach of our Tuttle Twins children’s book series.

Our acclaimed books sell over 4,000 copies a day, with a monthly paid media budget of $250k. We primarily advertise on Facebook/Instagram but are quickly adding additional channels.

We are looking to add a talented Director of Marketing to oversee campaign building and optimization across multiple online advertising platforms, specializing in programmatic channels. This person will be a subject matter expert on media buying and proficient at creating and optimizing ad campaigns. In addition to paid media, we will also be pursuing and launching marketing projects that the Director will help develop and execute.

You will be responsible for:

  • Setting the vision and lead the strategy and execution for paid advertising networks including Facebook/Instagram, Google, Verizon, Pinterest, LiveIntent, and more
  • Developing initiatives to innovate, automate, and scale Facebook ads
  • Continually tweaking and optimizing audiences and buying strategies to pursue at minimum 2x overall ROAS
  • Repeatedly A/B testing ad copy, landing page copy, graphics, etc.
  • Increasing organic/SEO performance
  • Building an influencer and affiliate network
  • Creating audiences from online and offline customer data for targeted marketing campaigns
  • Interfacing with multiple vendors including publishers, ad networks, and ad tech providers to access inventory and execute ad buys
  • Managing ongoing reporting across platforms
  • Following industry news closely to identify changes and opportunities in paid search networks
  • Developing and executing marketing opportunities for the brand outside of paid search
  • Reporting to the president and making recommendations to determine strategic focus based on performance of marketing initiatives
  • Seeking education in marketing strategies and implementation technology to stay on trend with marketing best practices

You will bring to the role your:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Facebook Ads manager
  • Experience with pixel implementation, Google Tag Manager, and Google Analytics
  • Clear performance ability to increase ROAS and manage large ad spend budgets
  • Knowledge of sales funnels and overall marketing philosophies and strategies
  • Familiarity with ad servers, measurement platforms, and conversion tracking
  • Very high attention to detail
  • Obsession with metrics and ad performance data
  • Creative experience including working knowledge of Photoshop to create new ads
  • Ability to learn new systems and strategies quickly
  • Passion for the ideas taught in the Tuttle Twins books
