Field Service Technician

IT Support / Field Services Technician – Tier 1

Iron Bow Technologies has an immediate need for an experienced Help Desk Tech interested in a permanent Tier 1 IT Field Support opportunity in Marion, VA

(**position is remote but candidate MUST live in Marion VA area**)

The selected candidate will be tasked with direct end user IT support for the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) contract by providing comprehensive Tier 1 technical support for end users at customer sites throughout Marion and the surrounding area.

Position Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for end-to-end IT infrastructure support

• Provide comprehensive and timely resolution of all end user issues

• Break/fix software & hardware support such as OEM-certified warranty repairs

• Responsible for system updates, ticketing and asset management

• Provide smart-hands support for networks, servers and VoIP technologies

• Handle IT asset disposal and maintain accurate asset inventory

• Support end users remotely accessing services via shipping replacement devices or leveraging 3rd party hardware repair (or other form of onsite support as needed)

• Troubleshoot issues involving applications on and off premise (e.g. cloud)

• Support may be provided remotely via remote administration tools or deskside

• Onsite support for incidents, service requests and changes as needed (IMAC, break/fix)

• Provide end user device configuration and imaging

• Execute application installations, patch and driver update testing and distribution

• Responsible for device, operating system, software and/or application troubleshooting

• System restoration activities as necessary

Required Candidate Experience

• A minimum of 2 years’ IT / help desk support experience

• Experience performing technical and system diagnostics and repairs

• Ability to perform break/fix software & hardware support 

• Proven ability to test, troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair end user device issues

• Must have ability to adapt to dynamic work schedules and flexible shifts

• Superb customer service and communication skills are required

• Must be able to pass a background check (requirements vary)

• High School Diploma (OR equivalent work experience)

• Valid Virginia driver’s license
